the president of India. He was born on 8 Feb 1897 in Hyderabad.
First of all He thanks and says to people, “I am very happy because you people
have shown your trust and selected me as a president.” During his speech he
says about Dr. Radha Krishnan who is a great scholar and philosopher.
Dr. Zakir Hussain pledges himself o the loyalty of our past culture. He
says education is the only instrument which can develop a man, state and

चुने गए । 'भारत मेरा घर है' राष्ट्रपति के पद की शपथ लेने के पश्चात् उनके द्वारा दिए
भाषण से उद्धरण की गई है । उन्हें सर्वोच्च पद पर चुन कर जो विश्वास लोगों ने
उनमें व्यक्त किया, उससे गदगद हो गए । सर्वप्रथम वे अपने पूर्वाधिकारी डा.
राधाकृष्णन की प्रशंसा करते हैं । वे कहते हैं कि डा. राधाकृष्णन महान विद्वान थे
। उन्होंने भारतीय दार्शनिक विचार और समस्त मूल्यों की एकता के बारे में विश्व को
अवगत कराया । उनका मनुष्य की सारभूत में पूरा भरोसा था और मानव के न्याय के साथ
सम्मानपूर्ण जीने के अधिकार का ही समर्थन किया ।
डॉ. जाकिर हुसैन ने राष्ट्रपति का पद पूरी विनम्रता से ग्रहण किया । उन्होंने भारत
के सविधान के प्रति निष्ठा की शपथ ली । वे कहते हैं कि भारत प्राचीन देश है जिसने
स्वतंत्रा अभि कुछ समय पहले प्राप्त की है । भारत के लोग कई जातीय समुदायों से संबंध रखते हैं । उन सबने मिल कर कुछ
शाश्वत मूल्यों को प्राप्त करने में हजारा वर्ष तक प्रयास किए । वे स्वयं को उन
मूल्यों के लिए समर्पित करते हैं । वे स्वयं को भारतीय संस्कृति की समग्रता के
प्रति समर्पित करते हैं । उनका कथन है कि भूतकाल कभी नहीं समाप्त होता । इसका
वर्तमान में नवीकरण हो जाता है और यह भविष्य को रूप प्रदान करता है ।
वे शिक्षा के महत्त्व पर जोर देते हैं । यह राष्ट्रीय उद्देश्य-सिद्धी का सशक्त
उपकरण है । यह राष्ट्रीय संस्कृति व चरित्र को निरन्तर नवीकरण करने में सहायक है ।
नि:संदेह राष्ट्र की गुणवत्ता बहुत हद तक शिक्षा की गुणवत्ता पर निर्भर है । वे
देशवासियों के आभारी है कि उन्होंने शिक्षाविद् के रूप में मेरी सेवाओं को मान्यता
दी ।
डा. जाकिर हुसैन भारत को अपना घर और लोगों को अपना परिवार मानते हैं । राष्ट्रपति
होने के नाते वे इस विशाल परिवार के, जो बड़े असुविधाजनक ढंग से बढ़ रहा है मुखिया हैं । वे भारत को सुन्दर व शालीन
बनाने की शपथ लेते हैं । वे लोगों की रंग, जाति,
भाषा और धर्म के
भेदभाव के बिना सेवा करने की शपथ लेते हैं । राष्ट्र के पुनर्निर्माण का कार्य
चुनौतीपूर्ण है । वे देशवासियों से राष्ट्र के भौतिक और सांस्कृतिक जीवन के
पुनर्निर्माण के लिए अनथक और सच्चे दिल से कार्य करने का आह्वान करते हैं ।
उनके अनुसार इस कार्य के दो पहलू हैं- व्यक्तिगत व सामाजिक । व्यक्तिगत पहलू स्वयं
का विकास चाहता है । समाजिक पहलू समाज की उन्नति के लिए करना मांगता है । ये दोनों
पहलू एक ही सिक्के के दो पहलू हैं । एक के बिना दूसरा सम्भव नहीं है । व्यक्ति
अपना पूर्ण विकास केवल न्यायपूर्ण और शालीन सामाजिक व्यवस्था में ही कर सकता है ।
डा. जाकिर हुसैन राज्य के बारे में गाँधी जी के विचार का समर्थन करते हैं । वे
राज्य को नैतिक संगठन मानते हैं, न कि पाश्विक शक्ति का संगठन । राज्य को अपनी शक्ति का उपयोग केवल नैतिक
उद्देश्यों के लिए ही करना चाहिए । डा. जाकिर हुसैन को इन उद्देश्यों को प्राप्त
करने के लिए लोगों की क्षमता पर भरोसा है । वे वचन देते हैं कि जो भी सहायता इसमें
वे दे सकते हैं,
वे देंगे ।
